Destination Beautiful: Spa H has plenty of self-care to offer

Spas are a go-to for self-care, health, and wellness. As more and more travelers look for ways to unplug and reset, destination spas are taking note of amenities designed to help you feel beautiful – inside and out.

Located within the new award-winning Hartness community next to a 180-acre nature preserve, Spa H feels worlds away. Opened earlier this year, the new spa features four suites, six treatment rooms, well-appointed locker rooms for men and women, and a relaxation area that opens to outdoor lounging spaces overlooking a meditation garden and pond.

“While guests travel the distance, many are close to home,” says Spa H manager Tammi Johnson. “The location is just far enough to feel like a getaway but also close enough for convenience."

Journey to Health and Wellness

Health and wellness are at the center of Spa H services, which include a full menu of restorative body treatments, facials, and massages. All incorporate curated scents and locally sourced ingredients.

“Spa life here is about reconnecting and focusing on self-care,” Johnson says. “Whether it’s health and wellness, a much-needed break, or just to indulge in a little pampering, everyone is on their own journey. What a great way to start one right here.”

The guest experience begins from the moment you walk through the doors. Designed by Atlanta-based Sims Patrick Studio, interiors feature neutral hues and a refined mix of textures and finishes to create a calming environment to reset and rejuvenate.

All treatments start with a welcome ritual, which includes a bamboo towelette scented with lavender, lemongrass, and ylang ylang.

Prepare your skin for winter weather with signature services like the seasonal body treatment. This 80-minute treatment begins with a refreshing full body scrub infused with black walnut and sandalwood oils, followed by an ultra-rich body butter massage, steamed towels with therapeutic botanicals, and then finished with a restoring facial.

“It’s the ultimate hydration therapy and ideal for prepping for cold weather months,” says Spa H esthetician Beverly Fritzsche.

Get ready for party season with Spa H’s detox body treatment, a popular go-to for those who want that special glow.

“This treatment hits all the senses,” says Johnson. “The impurities come to the surface and leave your skin glowing.”

Spa H turns back the clock with an ageless beauty facial. This highly active peel reboots skin with anti-aging serums and a vitamin-rich masque.

In addition to a handsome, dedicated locker room space, Spa H also includes products and services with men in mind. Winning treatments include a bourbon body scrub and massage designed to soothe overworked muscles and blast rough skin.

All products used in treatments, as well as a complete line of skincare products, are available in the spa’s retail area and make great gifts.

Linger Longer

Surrounded by green spaces and trails, this wellness-centric escape offers four distinctive spa suites for guests who want to linger longer.

“Spa suites have convenient access to the treatment rooms, which allow guests to prioritize their wellness experience during their stay,” Johnson says. “It’s also a great option for special occasions like a girlfriends' weekend – book all four suites, and you feel like you have the entire spa to yourself."

Accommodations offer all of the luxury found at Hotel Hartness. Suites include a soaking tub, balcony, and signature amenities such as bath salts, neck wraps, and chilled eye pillows.

The spa is a short stroll to Hotel Hartness and Patterson Kitchen + Bar, a free-standing restaurant helmed by executive chef Tanner Marino, where you’ll find elevated Southern fare.

“Here, we encourage you to stay longer, slow down, and enjoy all of the beauty right here, just outside the city,” says Johnson.

In addition to the amenities, it's the friendly and knowledgeable staff that takes your experience to another level, leaving a lasting impression long after you return home.

“We’re trying to break that mold and the norm in every way,” Johnson says. “We want to continue the Hartness legacy and their positive impact on the community. It’s an exciting time to be here and part of building a legacy.”
