Detached garage damaged in north-side Abilene fire Sunday
Abilene firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 1700 block of Fannin Street just before 5 a.m. Sunday.
A detached garage was on fire, with flames and smoke reported by crews upon their arrival. The fire and damage was limited to the garage.
Residents were at home and were evacuated. The garage was used as a living space but its occupant was not at home.
The cause of the fire was reported to be an overloaded electrical circuit.
Damage estimate is $3,000.
