The Detroit auto show is taking place in September, and tickets are now on sale.

The event, formally known as the North American International Detroit Auto Show, highlights up-and-coming technology in the automotive industry and raises money for local charities.

Tickets for the show are organized in three parts: Technology Days, the Charity Preview, and the Public Show.

On Sept. 13-14, Technology Days offer visitors a look at new technologies and products and engage with tech companies, startups, and universities who are leading automotive innovation. In addition, a two-day symposium will address issues with the changing automotive industry and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will present a keynote discussion about Michigan's important role in electrifying the automotive industry.

Tickets are available for $75 each.

The Charity Preview will be held on Sept. 15. The black-tie event has been raising money for children's charities across southeastern Michigan since 1976. This year, it will raise money for:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan

  • The Children’s Center

  • The Children’s Foundation

  • Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan

  • Detroit PAL

  • University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital

Tickets are at $400 for individuals and $700 for a pair.

Finally, the Public Show will feature vehicle displays and exhibits of the latest in automotive. This year, the show promises a new indoor track for electric vehicles, giving attendees a chance to learn about the electric vehicle movement with a professional driver. Additionally, showgoers are able to get behind the wheel of electric and autonomous vehicles and take a drive along the Detroit riverfront.

Tickets for the Public Show are $20 for adults, $12 for those age 65 and older or $10 for children ages 3 to 12. A $50 family pass is also available, for up to two adults and three children per ticket.
