Detroit, Dearborn dogs can get free vaccines, microchipping at event: What to know
Detroit dog rescues are teaming up to offer free canine vaccines to Detroit and Dearborn pet owners this Sunday at the former Herman Kiefer Hospital. Here's what to know:
Available vaccines
Furry friends can get vaccines for rabies, Bordetella, and DHLLP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza). Microchipping also will be free and available. Dogs and their owners are expected to remain in their vehicles during the event. The clinic plans to end vaccines once all are used.

When and where
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Herman Kiefer Hospital, 1151 Taylor St., on the city's west side.
