Detroit Free Press wins best podcast, public service awards in statewide contest

The Detroit Free Press won podcast of the year, along with over 20 other staff victories in various categories for the 2022 Better Newspaper Contest hosted by the Michigan Press Association.

First place wins for staff members include the categories best columnist, best page/pages design, best government/education news, and public service.

The contest received a total of 2,866 entries submitted by 89 Michigan newspapers or individuals this year. The entries were reviewed by members of the Colorado Press Association.
