The 6-foot-7 Kalamazoo native was projected to be a second-round pick or go undrafted. Livers had an illustrious career at Michigan, appearing in 119 career games with 69 starts, while serving as a bridge between former coach John Beilein and Juwan Howard.

Livers won more than 100 games in Ann Arbor and reached a national title game, won the Big Ten title and won a Big Ten tournament in his four years. He scored 987 points and would've topped 1,000 points if not for a stress injury in his foot that prematurely ended his senior season shortly before the NCAA tournament.

In 25 games during the 2020-21 season, Livers averaged a career-high 13.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists and shot 43.1% from 3-point range. He had successful surgery on his foot, although that prevented him from participating in the draft combine.
