The Detroit Pistons picked Balsa Koprivica out of Florida State with the No. 57 overall selection in the 2021 NBA draft Thursday.

The 7-foot, 240-pound Serbian center averaged 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks as a sophomore last season in 24 games (20 starts). He shot 59.9% from the field.

He was once considered a top recruit in the class of 2019, but finished as a four-star prospect ranked No. 77 overall by the 247Sports.com composite. He played one year in high school at Montverde Academy (Florida) with Cade Cunningham, whom the Pistons selected with the No. 1 overall pick out of Oklahoma State.

Before the draft, the Pistons dealt veteran center Mason Plumlee and the No. 37 overall pick to Charlotte for Pick 57.
