It's all right, Detroit. The sun is coming Saturday.

The sun is coming on Saturday.

And as George Harrison, the quiet Beatle and another star, kinda wrote: Little darlin', it's been a long, cold, lonely winter in Michigan, and while it's still a few months before spring, it feels like years — since early December, anyway — that the sun has been here.

But, finally, a National Weather Service meteorologist confirmed: here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo.

Can you feel Friday's predicted snow and ice is slowly melting? It seems like years since the sky has been clear.

It likely still will be cold, in the 30s, but expect — for a day — smiles returning to metro Detroiters' faces.

Who knows when we might see the sun again?

Enjoy it. And sing it. It's all right.

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes. Sun, sun, sun, here it comes. Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
