Violin soloist Tai Murray is coming to Monroe.

Murray’s work has been called “superb” by The New York Times.

The two-hour performance will open with Antonin Dvorak’s “Carnival Overture,” which the DSO says offers “a celebratory, even rowdy, carnival atmosphere.”

The DSO and Murray also will play Dvorak’s Violin Concerto in A Minor with traditional Czech dances as well as Myroslav Skoryk’s “Melody” and Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major.

“Skoryk’s ‘Melody’ is a moving evocation of his native Ukraine, while Beethoven’s second symphony evokes pastoral themes at the culmination of his early era,” the DSO said.

Other upcoming DSO concerts at MCCC are May 12 and June 16.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 each for children. For tickets, call the DSO Box Office at 313-576-5111 or visit www.dso.org.
