Game notes: Matthew Boyd makes his Tigers return on the mound Thursday in a spring training exhibition. Boyd, 32, went 2-0 with Seattle last season with a 1.35 ERA in 10 appearances as a reliever. He was 37-60 with a 4.87 ERA in seven seasons with the Tigers (2015-21). ... The Tigers won Wednesday's game over Pittsburgh, 8-7, on a walk-off home run from newcomer Nick Maton.
