The crowd at Comerica Park waited nearly five hours on Sunday afternoon, with little rain, for the Detroit Tigers' game against the San Francisco Giants to finally be postponed to July 24, 2023.

At 1:55 p.m., the Tigers announced the game would not begin earlier than 3 p.m., but for at least a couple hours, the rain completely stopped at Comerica Park. The sun was shining, and because of MLB's new pitch clock, there was a potential window to complete an official game.

A game is considered official once the visiting team has made 15 outs (five innings) and the home team is leading, or once the home team has made 15 outs (five innings) regardless of the score.
