Devon Amusement Park Fights Off Torrential Rain After UK Heat Wave

Staff at an amusement park in Devon were seen fighting off water leaks as thunderstorms brought torrential rain to southwestern parts of England on August 15, after a lengthy dry spell.

This video posted by Steff Gaulter shows two staff members brushing water through an open doorway as rain can be seen gushing through a gap in the ceiling.

The Met Office issued an amber thunderstorm warning for Devon and Cornwall on Monday, as videos on social media showed flooding in the area.

Following the storm, the Milky Way Adventure Park wrote on Twitter: “We got it all cleaned up by early evening, thanks to our amazing team, who stayed after hours! No major damage and back open tomorrow.”

The stormy weather came after the UK faced its highest temperatures on record last month, as well as watering restrictions in many parts of England.
