Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is softening earlier comments that called for schools to reopen for in-person instruction for all, saying during a visit to a Georgia high school that what she really wants to see is kids learning full time. (Aug. 25)
BETSY DEVOS: President Trump and I are really committed to the fact that kids need to be back to learning full time. But don't mistake learning full time for suggesting that every single student needs to be 100% in person in school. We need to give families choices and students choices. And this Forsyth District has done a terrific job of listening to parents, consulting with parents, collaborating with all of their teaching staff, and working really hard to meet the needs of their families here.
