Dezerland revs up new drive-through holiday lights show

Dezerland Action Park Orlando is introducing a drive-through holiday lights show outside the International Drive attraction.

“Christmas Nights in Lights” will be a mile-long trek amid 1.5 million lights that are synchronized to holiday music to be heard on a private radio frequency. It will be presented 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly from Nov. 11 to Jan. 1.

“Everyone in the family will have a smile on their face when they see the lights dancing to their favorite Christmas songs,” John Goodman, Dezerland’s vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release.

Advance reservations are required, and guests will arrive in a selected one-hour window. Admission is $45 for vehicles, which can have up to eight occupants. For $65, a vehicle with nine to 15 occupants can experience “Christmas Nights in Lights.”

Each car also gets a Dezerland discount card for buy one/get one offers for some attractions within the complex, including Orlando Auto Museum, Jump Start trampoline park, bowling and karting.

Dezerland also will present a Christmas Village with holiday food fare including hot cocoa and apple cider, Santa’s sleigh made with an antique Volkswagen and contests every Saturday with kids competing against St. Nick on vintage pinball machines and contemporary video-gaming consoles at Pinball Palace and Gamrz Delight.

Notes from the fine print: Limos and party buses are permitted, but a maximum of 15 people may be aboard. Vehicle height must be under 8 feet. Photography is allowed, but leaving the vehicle is not. No drones are allowed. There is a $3 processing fee per car.
