The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies in their first Game 7 since the 2001 World Series, where Luis Gonzalez hit a walk-off single to win the team's first-ever championship. And the Dbacks once again succeeded, this time with Corbin Carroll and Gabriel Moreno leading the offense and Diamondbacks pitchers holding the potent Phillies to two runs, winning 4-2 at Citizens Bank Park to propel themselves into the World Series for a showdown with the Texas Rangers.

Fans showed immense support on social media for the DBacks before, during and after the Tuesday night game.

One of the top comments on the DBacks Instagram post before the game came from nick.nold23, who said that "(we) got told we'd get swept by the Brewers and Dodgers... wrong, (we) got told that we have no chance in this series. Go prove em wrong again fellas."

Dakota Roman, an Arizona sports superfan, expressed his excitement for the Diamondbacks game, as well as the Phoenix Suns' opening night game against the Golden State Warriors.

Andrew Froncek showed his support for the Diamondbacks, even despite being in a hospital bed.

Mesa's police officers took time to announce their backing for the DBacks.

The DBacks started the game hot, scoring a run in the first inning to give themselves an early lead, but were quickly matched by the end of the inning courtesy of a homerun from Philly infielder Alec Bohm. Fans expressed the roller coaster of emotions they were put through to start the game.

Philadelphia would be the next to strike, tacking on another run in the fourth off of a double. Fans started to get anxious at this point, as on the other side of the ball, the DBacks offense had gone quiet since the first inning.

However, the dread soon turned back into elation in the fifth inning, when the DBacks scored two runs to retake the lead. Outfielder Corbin Carroll batted in one run while scoring the other, and the fans sure appreciated his efforts.

The excitement continued to rise when the DBacks tacked on another run in the sixth to take a two-run lead. Carroll was once again responsible for batting in the run, and the fans were ignited by it. Infielder Ketel Marte also had a huge hit this inning, which was the record for consecutive postseason games with a hit.

As the DBacks continued to hold the Phillies off the bases, the giddier fans became as they realized how close victory was.

Pitcher Paul Sewald then retired three batters to end the ninth inning, continuing the Diamondbacks' Cinderella run and sending them back to the World Series. Here's how the Valley reacted when they realized it.
