Dickinson girls finish seventh in track meet, boys end up ninth

Apr. 28—BISMARCK — Neither rain nor snow nor gloom of night shall stay these track teams from their appointed postseason preparations, especially when the meets are just down the road. Dickinson High School's teams slogged it out through the rain on Thursday for the BPS Girls Invite in Bismarck and the MAB Club Boys Meet in Mandan, with decent results.

DHS ended up seventh with 45 points in the girls meet and ninth in the boys meet with only 20, but the all-important reps needed to get ready for the Regional and State meets are what matter most.

Among area athletes placing in the girls meet at Bismarck Community Bowl included third-place senior Emily Ash in the 200m dash with a 27.31, and she was followed by teammate Jayden Atkins in fourth with a 27.87. Meanwhile, in the 400m dash, DHS earned fourth and fifth with Arabella Privratsky at 1:04.21 and Sadie Stevenson with a 1:05.5 and Dickinson's Hannah Geisel finished in third in the 800m run at 2:29.63.

In the distance events, Leila Gregoire finished eighth with a 5:46.19 in the 1600m run.
