ZANESVILLE − Pariss Dickinson, 27, of Zanesville, pleaded guilty to three charges Thursday, related to the death of Alex King.

On the night of Oct. 28, Dickinson struck King with her vehicle in the parking lot of the Putnam Tavern, Assistant Muskingum County Prosecutor Molly Martin said Thursday in court. He was pronounced dead later that night.

Martin said the Putnam Tavern was Dickinson's second stop that night, and she was visibly intoxicated when she got into her vehicle. Her blood alcohol content was later tested and found to be .185, more than double the legal limit.

Dickinson attempted to back out of her parking spot at the Putnam Tavern with her vehicle door open. She exited the car and left the door open, which knocked her down. The car continued to roll until it hit another vehicle in the parking lot. Dickinson then got back into her car and hit King as she attempted to exit the parking lot.

Dickinson faces up to 15 years in prison for the three charges, including one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, a second degree felony. The charge requires mandatory prison time, and lifetime license forfeiture. She also plead guilty to one count of failure to stop after an accident, a third degree felony, and OVI, a first degree misdemeanor. She will also forfeit a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. In addition, she could face added time because of a community control violation stemming from a case in the spring of 2022.
