The Dickinson Press 'Catches Up With Coach' Amanda Mickey

May 24—DICKINSON — Your hometown newspaper decided to kick off a new video segment in recognition of Bravera Field hosting the West Dakota Association's Class A Postseason Tournament. The event begins Thursday, May 25 with Minot High versus Bismarck Legacy at 11 a.m., segues into a game between Bismarck High and Century at 1 p.m., which is followed by Jamestown's contest against Williston at 3 p.m. and ends up with the nightcap of Dickinson High School versus Mandan at 5 p.m.

The video segment is going to be called "Catching Up With Coach," and will feature interviews with area coaches in their elements: the athletic field itself. In this inaugural installment, DHS Midgets Coach Amanda Mickey was nice enough to welcome us to the Sanford Health Softball Complex's beautiful facility, which is getting closer to completion every day.

Bravera Field recently played host to the North Star Athletic Association's Postseason Softball Tournament from May 5 to May 7 and it's one of many recent events — such as Biesiot Activity Center's track meets for Class B Regionals last week and the DSU/NSAA Conference Track Meet from May 10 to May 12, Astoria Field's NSAA Postseason Tournament from May 5 to 7 — the City of Dickinson has benefited from over the last few weeks.

For the Class A Regional Tournament, DHS (22-7 overall, 12-6 in WDA) will be in a rematch with Mandan (8-10 WDA, 8-13 overall) on Thursday, after splitting a pair of games on the road, 17-4 and 7-9 in a doubleheader last week.
