Dickinson resident escapes through window during fire; home sustains 'significant smoke and fire damage'

Jun. 3—DICKINSON — The Dickinson Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday evening where an occupant was trapped in the basement of the home before they were able to escape through a window. Shortly after the arrival of firefighters the fire was extinguished.

Dickinson Fire Chief Jeremy Presnell noted that there were no injuries suffered by the individual, however, the structure sustained significant smoke and fire damage.

The Dickinson Fire Department responded to the fire call at 8:54 p.m. on the 100 block of Fourth Street East in northeast Dickinson.

Assisting the Dickinson Fire Department on the call were the Dickinson Police Department, Dickinson Area Ambulance Service and the Dickinson Rural Fire Department.
