Dickson County November election candidates finalized

The local candidates in the upcoming Dickson County Election were recently finalized.

Now that the candidate qualifying deadline passed for the Nov. 8 election, the races in Burns, Slayden, Vanleer and White Bluff are set.

In the Burns commissioner race there are two candidates for the two open seats: Chad Tidwell and Scott Street.

In White Bluff, there are three open council seats on the ballot. Connie Reed is running for re-election and other candidates include Kevin Dugan, Scott Glover, Drew Harsh, Carl Kincaid, Thea Martin and Trey Thomas.

Slayden will have three open council seats and a mayoral seat with two candidates for council in William Smathers and Wayne White and one candidate for mayor in Mary Smathers.

In Vanleer, the town will have five candidates vying for the open alderman seats: Chris Farmer, Elizabeth Farmer, Jerry Jenkins, Dwight McIllwain, and Kevin Miner. Heath Ellis is the lone candidate for Vanleer mayor.
