Discussion, responses

School board attorney Alan Hall was tasked with receiving and tabulating the anonymous evaluation scores. He said “there were multiple highs of 5 and multiple lows of 1.”

After being shown the scores, board member Steve Haley suggested adjusting the evaluation process. Haley and board member Sonya Brogdon both felt the scoring could use a change and clarification.

Board Chair Kirk Vandivort disagreed.

“I think we have a very good evaluation process. I think it's very clear in my mind,” Vandivort said.

He also suggested more open dialogue between the board and Weeks.

"I think it's important that we all have an open communication with Dr. Weeks. If there are issues, go and talk to him about the issues,” Vandivort said.

Weeks echoed that sentiment, particularly in regard to receiving the low scores.

“If you don’t feel that you can at least provide a 3, which is ‘I usually meet what you expect me to do,’ I would love to have a conversation with you,” Weeks said.
