Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager’s home run in the top of the third inning was the hardest hit in the history of the World Series.

The homer was Seager’s second in two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Seager’s first home run sent game 1 into extra innings.

Monday’s home run gave the Rangers a 3-0 lead that they would never relinquish during their 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in game 3 of the World Series.

Seager’s home run was the hardest hit since Statcast began measurements in 2015, it also tied him with Minnesota Twin Carlos Correa for second place all-time on the MLB’s shortstop postseason home run list.

If Seager hits three more home runs this postseason he’ll pass New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter for No.1 all-time.

The Rangers will play the Diamondbacks at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday at Chase Field. The Rangers lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
