It doesn’t matter if you typically pay attention to the Hollywood romance scene or not — sometimes two stars so huge get linked that it’s enough to pique anyone’s curiosity. Which is why you’ll undoubtedly be interested to hear that Charlize Theron just addressed those Brad Pitt dating rumors. Dying to know if they actually shared a secret love? Well, Theron officially spilled the tea during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday.

Obviously, Theron didn’t visit the talk show specifically to talk about her rumored connection to Pitt. She wasn’t even alone for the appearance, having come with her Bombshell co-stars Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie to promote the upcoming film and specifically to drop a new teaser for Ellen. During the visit, though, DeGeneres had the women play a special version of “Would You Rather?” If you’re not familiar, it’s a game that requires participants to choose which man they’d date between two shown on the screen.

Only for this visit, Robbie and Kidman would choose “Who Would Charlize Rather?” After a comically awkward moment when Kidman had to point out she dated potential suitor Lenny Kravitz, DeGeneres replaced the photo to one of Brad Pitt. “I did not date Brad,” Kidman announced, to which Theron responded, “No, but I apparently did. I had an entire relationship that I didn’t even know about.”

Okay, okay, we hear you, Theron. As for how those dating rumors snowballed into a full-blown rumored romance, DeGeneres touched on the origin story first reported by HollywoodLife in January. Allegedly, Theron and Pitt sent sparks flying when they ran into each other at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont after a nearby movie screening.

“Brad came over to Chateau afterwards, changed his outfit and joined Charlize in a corner of the bar,” a source told HollywoodLife at the time. “She was on a vodka cocktail while he stuck to mineral water. They were ridiculously touchy-feely and his arm was around her back. At one point he winked at her. Brad seemed in a really good place — they both looked really happy.” However, per Theron, that alleged initial chemistry never amounted to anything more.

On the plus side, Theron’s friends-slash-co-stars (and DeGeneres) may have found a match for her. By the end of “Who Would Charlize Rather?,” only one face remained on the screen: Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan. And hey, according to popular celebrity romance website Who’s Dated Who, he might just be as “shockingly single” as Theron is right now.
