Former Disney exec Dick Nunis died Wednesday. During his heydays in Orlando, Nunis was a power player who sometimes advised politicians. Among them: former State Rep. Marvin Couch, an evangelical conservative who was caught with a prostitute. What advice did Couch say Nunis gave him at the time?

A. “Repent and ask for forgiveness.”

B. “Lean on your faith. You’ll need it right now.”

C. “We all make mistakes. The key is to carry on.”

D. “If I were you, I would just grow a beard and leave.”

Answer: D. Couch did resign, but decided to own up to his high-profile mistake and stayed in town.

Years ago, the top local Disney exec was such a big deal, that person was basically a household name in Central Florida. Nowadays, most locals might not even recognize the last few. So let’s see. All of the following first names belong to recent Walt Disney World Resort presidents, except which one?

Answer: A. There was no local Bob. (Iger and Chapek were national CEOs.) There were, however, Orlando park presidents Josh D’Amaro, George Kalogridis and current president Jeff Vahle.

The Republican Party of Florida is meeting Sunday in Orlando to discuss booting chairman Christian Ziegler, who has admitted to having three-way sexual relations with his Moms-for-Liberty wife and another woman. If Ziegler is booted Sunday, what should the headline be?

B. Ziegler hits the three-way freeway

C. Ziegler’s fatal Ménage à flaw

Answer: Any would suffice, especially since I was really just looking for an excuse to write “three-way freeway” and “Ménage à flaw.”

Florida Democrats recently decided to anoint Joe Biden as their party’s nominee by essentially canceling the state’s presidential primary next March. That idea is:

A. Pretty anti-democratic

B. Probably going to hurt the party’s candidates in other races, since Democrats will now have less incentive to go to the polls

C. Typical shoot-themselves-in-the-feet behavior for Florida Democrats

D. All of the above.

Answer: D. It sometimes feels as if, when Florida Republicans are plotting ways to ensure Democrats don’t make any gains in this state, Democrats are part of the strategy session.

Answer: D. City officials say they’re annoyed by one particularly problematic guy — which is an interesting reason to pass a new citywide law.

A resident of The Villages was recently convicted of voter fraud in connection with a mail-in ballot for his father that was postmarked after his father’s death. How many residents of The Villages have either been convicted or admitted guilt to voter-fraud charges in recent months?

Answer: B. To put that in perspective, when Gov. Ron DeSantis announced he was cracking down on voter fraud, he announced 20 incidents throughout the entire state, in mostly Democratic areas. None of The Villages folks were targeted by DeSantis. And most were given deals and community-service offers, including an option to “buy out” their community-service at $10 an hour.

Answer: D. Trump was leading DeSantis 60.3 to 12.6, according to Friday’s Real Clear Politics average. Even more troubling for DeSantis, he’s no longer considered the leading backup now that Nikki Haley has surged past him in some early-primary states.
