If you've been toying with the idea of tying the knot, now you can have a great story to tell and have memories of a unique ceremony while being a part of Shreveport's history.

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the "Bakowski Bridge of Lights" on the Texas Street Bridge will open with a mass wedding and an opportunity to adopt your own light on the bridge.

Couples can have their wedding or vow renewal on the bridge for $222.22. That includes dressing/prep area in the Shreveport Riverfront Convention Center, a trolley ride to the bridge, LED bridal flower and groom boutonniere, a reception complete with wedding cupcakes, champagne toast and fireworks show designed by Broadway light designer Jason Lyons and first dance under a light show designed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker William Joyce.

As a bonus, all couples are entered into a drawing for a honeymoon at Margaritaville on the weekend on Feb. 25 with a balcony suite overlooking the "Bakowski Bridge of Lights" and dinner at Jimmy's Steakhouse.

You can find more information on the event and register to get married or renew your vows at the Texas Street Bridge website.
