How did former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer do against Michigan?

When Urban Meyer was back in Ann Arbor with FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff" team, the former Ohio State coach was drowned with boos, leading to him remembering a quote from a college football legend.

"The great Steve Spurrier said 'If your rivals like you as a coach, you haven't beaten them many times,'" Meyer said. "So we're good."

In his seven seasons as Ohio State's football coach, Meyer found a lot of success against Michigan.

He's the only coach since 1924 to go undefeated in "The Game," beating Michigan coach Brady Hoke three times and coach Jim Harbaugh four times.

In each of Meyer's seven wins against the Wolverines, three were decided by five points or less, including a double-overtime win at Ohio Stadium in 2016.

In those seven wins, Ohio State outscored the Wolverines 237-189, including three wins inside Michigan Stadium.

Michigan coaches George Little (1924) and Gustave Ferbert (1897) were both 1-0 against Ohio State.

Urban Meyer feels both Ohio State and Michigan should make the 2022 College Football Playoff

While Meyer never lost to Michigan, the former Ohio State coach said he feels both the Wolverines and the Buckeyes are two of the best four teams in college football.

"When you look at videotape, the Buckeyes and the Wolverines are two of the top four teams in America," Meyer said.

No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan are two of four remaining FBS teams that are undefeated in 2022, along with No. 1 Georgia and No. 4 TCU.

The undefeated Wolverines and the undefeated Buckeyes will face off in a battle for the Big Ten East division title Saturday at noon.
