Some of the family members behind the hit reality show “Duck Dynasty,” will be in Fort Worth this weekend for a movie premiere.

Phil and Kay Robertson are coming to Cowtown on Saturday for a special movie premiere of “The Blind,” a film based on the couple’s life before “Duck Dynasty.” The screening is at 6:15 p.m. at the Cinemark Alliance Town Center and XD theater in north Fort Worth.

“Set in the backwoods swamps of 1960s Louisiana, ‘The Blind’ shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place. This stunning cinematic journey chronicles the love story that launched a dynasty, the turmoil that nearly brought it crashing down, and the hope that rose from the ashes to create a foundation for generations to come,” the film’s synopsis reads.

The Robertson family put a call out to its fanbase to choose any three Cinemark or Regal theaters that were showing the movie, to also host special premiere events. The family opted out of a traditional Hollywood premiere to focus more on fan-centric events, according to a press release.

The show followed Willie Robertson and his family through the trials and tribulations of running the Louisiana-based duck hunting business. Phil and Kay Robertson were a major part of the show, along with other family members such as Uncle Si and Willie’s brother Jase.

“Duck Dynasty” ended its television run in 2017, after 11 seasons on the air. The show can be streamed in full on A&E’s website or on the app Tubi.
