Two Knoxville relay teams make state

KEWANEE — The Illinois High School Association boys track and field sectionals were completed late last week.

West Central junior Kaiden Droste will rep the Heat in the 200 (23.31) and the long jump (6.33 meters) at EIU. United senior Jacob Dutton (41.09m) will throw his discus, and Ridgewood sophomore Fernando Avila-Rubio will compete in the 3200 in Charleston.

BASS FISHING

Blue Bullets finish 18th at state

CARLYE — Knoxville High School's Titus Cramer and Gage Fox represented the Blue Bullets' bass fishing team at the state meet over the weekend, and the pair ended up in 18th place.

Cramer and Fox snagged two bass that weighed in at a combined weight of three pounds, three ounces. They did so Friday on Carlyle Lake, as Saturday's festivities were nixed by Mother Nature. Fishing on Friday ended early due to the weather conditions.
