Did you hear that Wequassett Resort and Golf Club property in Harwich sold for $105 million?

The Wequassett Resort and Golf Club has been acquired by EOS Investors LLC, a New York investment firm with several other properties on Cape Cod, for $105 million.

The deal expands EOS’s local presence after the firm acquired Red Jacket Resorts in 2021. EOS’s New England "drive-to" resort portfolio consists of 17 properties including more than 1,000 individual lodging units, more than 20 restaurants and bars, and nearly $125 million of annual revenue, according to a May 10 news release.

“We are honored to add the beautiful and historic property to our drive-to resort collection,” Tom Burns, managing director at EOS Investors, wrote in the release.

On May 11, Wequassett Inn LLC sold 2 Swan Drive, 2173 Route 28 and 5 Cove Landing Road for $102 million to Round Cove Resort Owner LLC, according to the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds. Also on May 11, Wequassett Inn LLC sold 4 Cove Landing Road for $3 million to 4 Cove Landing Road Owner LLC.

The individuals listed on the Massachusetts corporate records for Round Cove Resort Owner LLC and 4 Cove Landing Road Owner LLC are also listed as team members on the website of EOS Investors.

The Wequassett Resort opened in 1925. It includes 22 buildings, two of which are historically noteworthy.

The Ellen Ryder House was built in Brewster and moved to Wequassett on flat-bed trucks. The 1740 Warren Jensen Nickerson House was also transported to its current location.

The resort is on 27 acres of oceanfront property and features 120 units ranging from waterfront cottages to luxury suites. It also includes four restaurants such as the Outer Bar & Grille, Thoreau’s, LiBAYtion, an outdoor pool bar & restaurant, and the Twenty-Eight Atlantic restaurant.

The Wequassett Resort’s interior and exterior meeting spaces can host corporate and social events. It features a pool, an adults-only lap pool, and four tennis courts. Hotel guests have access to play on the private 18-hole Cape Cod National golf course.

EOS Investors, founded in 2017 by Jonathan Wang and based in New York City, describes itself as "a fully integrated investment firm dedicated to identifying and creating value within the hospitality sector."

The company looks "for investment opportunities across the United States, primarily targeting urban markets and select resort destinations."

EOS owns ‘drive-to’ resorts in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the Keys in Florida, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, New York City and Washington D.C.
