Kevin Durant won't need a second chance for a dynamic first impression after his Phoenix Suns debut on Wednesday. The 13-time All-Star looked like his normal fluid, unstoppable self on offense and was a solid defender in his return from his MCL sprain suffered on Jan. 8, and after he was traded from Brooklyn on Feb. 8.

Durant got 23 points in 27 minutes, shot 10-of-15, added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks as Phoenix won in Charlotte by 14.

He scored the ninth-most points ever by a Suns player in their debut for the team.

Several of the players on that list are former All-Stars including Cedric Ceballos (28), A.C. Green (25), and Tom Gugliotta (24) who were traded to the Suns.

Similar to the expectations of Durant for the Suns, three other Hall of Famers on that all-time best Suns debut scoring list made a major impact on the team's overall performance during the same season. Here's a review of some top former All-Stars and how they did in their debut with the Suns.

Charles Barkley

Barkley was the league's most seismic trade among its franchises during the early 1990s. The Hall of Famer was at the peak of his powers when the Philadelphia 76ers shipped him to Phoenix for Jeff Hornacek, Tim Perry, and Andrew Lang in June 1992. "The Round Mound of Rebound" was a six-time All-NBA selection, All-Star Game MVP the year prior, former rebounding champion in 1988, and was the leading scorer of the iconic U.S. Olympic "Dream Team."

Barkley wasted no time establishing himself as a Sun by nearly recording a triple-double against the Los Angeles Clippers in their 1992-93 regular season tip-off. He had 37 points (11-of-16 FG), snatched 21 boards, and dished eight assists, a block and a steal in the Suns' 111-105 home win. His 37 points ranked first for the most all-time in a Suns debut.

Barkley earned the MVP award that season, led the Suns to the Western conference playoffs' top seed, and lost 4-2 to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in the finals. Barkley played four seasons in Phoenix before he was traded to Houston in August 1996.

Dennis Johnson

The late Johnson is mostly remembered as a Boston Celtic because of his retired No. 3 jersey number hangs in that team's arena rafters. But "DJ" was also one of the league's top guards when the Suns traded for him in 1980.

He led the Seattle Supersonics to the previous year's title, earned Final MVP honors, was an All-Star and All-Defensive First Team selection twice, All-NBA Second Team and First Team selections in 1980 and the next year, respectively. Johnson also led the Sonics to the 1980 West finals against the eventual world champion L.A. Lakers.

Within weeks after the Sonics lost, Johnson was sent to Phoenix in exchange for All-Star Paul Westphal on June 3 that year. His 28 points in the Suns' 121-101 home win over the Golden State Warriors to start the 1980-81 season are the second-most for a Suns player debut.

Johnson helped lead the Suns to two consecutive West semifinals, and they had a first round exit in 1983 before he was traded to Boston.

Maurice Lucas

The 6-foot-9 power forward Lucas was a former ABA star who played 12 years for six different NBA teams from the 1970s and '80s. He was a four-time All-Star, and All-NBA Second Team. He was nicknamed "The Enforcer" of the Portland Trail Blazers because of his fight defending Doug Collins in a fight against physically imposing center Darryl Dawkins and the Julius Erving-led 76ers during the 1977 finals, which Portland won.

Lucas was traded to the New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks in consecutive years between 1980 and 1981, and was traded again the following year to Phoenix for their All-Star forward Truck Robinson.

Lucas shined in his first game with the Suns as he produced a double-double 24 points and 11 rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block in their 113-99 win at the Clippers in both team's season opener. His 24 are the eight-most among players' initial performances for Phoenix.

Lucas made his final All-Star appearance in that season, propelled the Suns to the 1984 West finals and lost to the Lakers. He signed as a free agent with the Lakers in that year's offseason.

Shaquille O'Neal

O'Neal was the most athletically gifted 7-foot-2, 300-plus-pound basketball unicorn with Hulk-like strength and dominance that the NBA ever had. He was on the league's 50 and 75 Greatest Players Lists, was a 15-time All-Star, earned an MVP award and three Finals MVPs, and never lost in his four finals appearances with the Lakers and Miami Heat.

But in 2008, he was in the back-nine of his illustrious career at age 35, and had many injuries. Shaq was traded to the Suns for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks on Feb. 6 that year, following a heated argument with longtime Heat president and his former coach Pat Riley.

O'Neal isn't among the Suns' top scorers for their debut, but his first performance was formidable. He scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, added nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 29 minutes as the Suns lost,130-124, at home to his former team Lakers.

Shaq played just one more season in Phoenix until he was traded to the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers in June 2009.
