Did you miss the Dead & Company show in Charlotte? Here’s how to get a refund

While thousands attended the Dead & Company and John Mayer show at PNC Music Pavilion Tuesday, some ticket holders are seeking refunds after not being able to find parking at the venue.

Fans told WSOC they waited for more than two hours as spaces filled up. The traffic and parking situations caused many fans to miss out on the concert.

According to PNC Music Pavilion, which is operated by Live Nation, parking is included in the ticket price for concerts hosted at the venue. The company also offers passes where fans can sit on the lawn for most shows during the concert season. Some concertgoers paid more than $300 for tickets, WSOC reported.

A Charlotte concertgoer on Reddit accused Live Nation of selling too many lawn passes, and not accounting for fans who purchased tickets specifically for the Dead & Company show.

“The last two concerts have proven that something has gone wrong, and I believe that whoever is selling the lawn passes of other promotions is double dipping and not counting the lawn pass sales as actual ticket sales because they are clearly overselling the venue…,” the identified poster wrote. “Something is clearly wrong, and I’m wondering what others’ experience is with this.”

Despite parking woes, no one was turned away from the show, Christina Karas, Live Nation spokeswoman, told The Charlotte Observer in an emailed statement.

Ticket holders who missed the show can call PNC Music Pavilion to request a refund at 704-549-1292, Karas said. All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

“We had an amazing start to our summer concert season with two, incredible sold-out shows,” Karas said. “We understand that traffic delays and parking issues can be frustrating for fans. When we have a sold-out show, we increase staffing and parking access, and we always encourage fans to arrive early and consider carpooling to avoid traffic.”
