It's not often that Fort Collins finds itself on national television, especially on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

But fans watching closely as actress Keke Palmer hosted the show on Saturday night may have seen a Fort Collins building featured at the start of a sketch.

Colorado State University's medical and health center, which also houses its branch of the University of Colorado medical school, had a three-second glamour shot before the cameras cut to Palmer acting as an expectant mother in the sketch set in a medical office.

The building's logos were removed in the shot, but Greg Harrison, assistant vice president of strategic communications for CSU, confirmed the school's medical center was featured.

The $59 million building opened in 2017 and began hosting medical students through a partnership with CU Boulder in 2021.

Harrison said he couldn't find anyone on campus with any knowledge of why it appeared but that it is the building with "no specific reference to CSU."

"Best I can figure, it could be an archive clip from a public site," he said.

Saturday Night Live's public relations team had not responded to the Coloradoan's request for comment as 2 p.m. Wednesday.
