Did you shop online at Sephora in Missouri? You may get money back from this lawsuit

Did you shop online at Sephora in Missouri between 2015 and 2021? If so, you may qualify for a payout in a recently decided class-action lawsuit against the makeup giant.

“Automatic refunds will be provided to eligible consumers,” the lawsuit decision’s website reads. “The amount of your payment will depend on the total amount of money you were originally charged, the number of (people) eligible for a refund, and the total amount of money available to the settlement class.”

In order to qualify for a payment, you must have bought at least one Sephora product online or through another remote outlet between March 1, 2015 and June 30, 2021. Products you purchased in person at a brick and mortar store don’t qualify for this settlement.

Your Sephora order must also have been shipped to you at an address in Missouri from a location outside of Missouri, and Sephora must have overcharged you for taxes on your purchase.

However, you don’t have to track down old receipts to prove that you meet these qualifications. If you qualify, you will automatically get a refund. These refunds will be issued soon — unless you have already decided to exclude yourself from the settlement.

Once the $1.77 million settlement amount has paid court fees, lawyers’ fees and refunds to eligible Sephora customers, the remainder of the money will be donated to the nonprofit Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.
