Making his first start in right field in Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, the Texas Rangers’ Adolis Garcia fought the sun in Seattle to make not one, but two great catches.

The first one happened to be the first play of the game.

The right fielder was selected as an alternate, but moved into the starting role with Austin Hays after Mike Trout and Aaron Judge were sidelined with injuries.

Luckily for starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, Garcia made a defensive play that Judge nay not have been able to make.

Garcia’s play led the way for another defensive gem made by Tampa Bay’s Randy Arozarena. The two grew up together in Cuba and were minor league roommates in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

Garcia was one of five Rangers starters in the game. A sixth Ranger joined them on the field when starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi pitched a scoreless inning for the American League All-Stars.

The six Rangers tied an MLB All-Star Game record for the most players one team had on the field at the same time.

By the sixth inning, all six had completed their playing time in the summertime classic.

When Garcia came up to bat for his first at bat, coming in the second inning,, he struck out against Pirates pitcher Mitch Keller.

Heim struck out swinging twice in his at-bats, but he shined behind the plate.

Not to be outdone by the National League starting catcher Sean Murphy, who threw out Arozarena trying to seal, Heim nabbed one of his own.

It took a review to get the call right, but in the end Heim threw out the Florida Marlins’ representative Luis Arraez in the fourth inning.

Heim was traded three times before coming up to the Major Leagues with Texas. His superb performance has brought some well-deserved attention this year.

Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien grounded out In both of his at-bats.

Shortstop Corey Seager lined out in his lone at-bat before he was replaced by Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette in the third inning.

Texas’ first-ever rookie to start in the All-Star game, third baseman Josh Jung, flied out to center field in the third inning and grounded out to third base in the fifth inning.
