Did somebody say bacon? You can get your fill at this special Modesto event. When, where

Just about everyone loves bacon, and you can eat it to your heart’s content at an upcoming Modesto festival.

And that’s not all. September brings fall and with it a host of popular community and cultural events to the Modesto and Mother Lode regions.

In addition, the Greek Food Festival is returning to an in-person celebration this year.

Those are just two of the many fests to get out and enjoy. Here’s a look at some of what’s planned:

NEWMAN FALL FESTIVAL — Sept. 1-3: Parade, carnival, entertainment, kids zone, food/beer booths, craft and commercial vendors and more. Events begin at 4 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. Sunday. The parade on Sunday begins at 11 a.m. on Main Street. The festival is at Pioneer Park, 1250 Tulare St., Newman. Free. newmanfallfestival.org.

SIERRA NEVADA ARTS AND CRAFTS FESTIVAL – Sept. 2-3: More than 60 booths featuring handcrafted items, specialty food and antiques. MODESTO BACON FESTIVAL – Sept. 9: More than 30 bacon vendors, live music, other vendors, cornhole tournament, face painters, mechanical bull, line dancing and more. DENAIR FARM AND FAMILY FESTIVAL – Sept. 9: Food and craft vendors, farm equipment show and more. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tractor parade begins at 9 a.m. on Main Street. Downtown Denair. Free. www.denairfestival.com.

ACORN FESTIVAL – Sept. 9-10: The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians holds its annual celebration with traditional dancers, native arts and crafts and more. It begins at 11 a.m. both days. GREEK FOOD FESTIVAL — Sept. 16-17: Event features Greek dinner, homemade pastries, marketplace, coffeehouse, live music and entertainment, church tours and more. COYOTEFEST – Sept. 23-24: There will be a car show, vendors, coyote howl contests, live music and entertainment in Coulterville Park. A parade starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
