Did someone say free donuts? Where to celebrate National Donut Day in State College

National Donut Day is Friday and several chains are celebrating with sweet promotions.

Places like Dunkin’ and Duck Donuts are giving away donuts on this special day. At participating Dunkin’ locations, customers can get a free classic doughnut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage, according to a press release.

Centre County has many Dunkin’ locations for people to visit:

  • 1430 N. Atherton St., State College. Open 5 a.m.-9 p.m.

  • 200 W. College Ave., State College. Open 5 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • 1311 S. Atherton St., State College. Open 5 a.m.-7 p.m.

  • 1381 E. College Ave., State College. Open 24/7.

  • 3180 W. College Ave., State College. Open 5 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays and Saturday, 5 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

  • 2825 Benner Pike, Bellefonte. Open 5 a.m.-9 p.m.

At Duck Donuts, anyone can stop by for a free cinnamon sugar doughnut, no purchase necessary, according to a social media post.

Duck Donuts has one location in Centre County, 125 S. Fraser Street, State College.

The first National Donut Day celebration was in Chicago in 1938 as a fundraiser by the Salvation Army to help those in need during the Great Depression, according to its website.
