‘If I die young.’ Rivera fans share haunting tribute to ‘Glee’ co-star after her death

After authorities in Southern California confirmed the death of Naya Rivera, her emotional performance of ‘If I die young’ from ‘Glee’ started trending online, TEGNA reported.

Rivera, 33, sang the song by The Band Perry in 2013 in honor of her co-star Cory Monteith, who had died months earlier, according to TEGNA.

Authorities found Rivera’s body this morning at Lake Piru, CNN reported.

While the body has not be identified by Ventura County Medical Examiner, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub is “confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera,” he said, according to CNN.

After the news broke, Rivera’s fans started sharing her most memorable moments on Twitter, one of which was the “If I die young” performance. At the end of the clip, Rivera breaks down and runs out of the room, overwhelmed with emotion.

One clip shared Monday morning had about 1.3 million views on Twitter as of 6 p.m.

Rivera went missing last week while boating with her 4-year-old son, Josey, on Lake Piru, The Sun reported. The boy told investigators that he and Rivera jumped into the water to swim but she was nowhere to be found afterward, according to the Sun.

Officials believe that Rivera accidentally drowned and her body got trapped in vegetation under the lake for several days, TEGNA reported.
