Dig into Boozy B's alcoholic ice cream this summer

Aug. 2—Boozy B's is the place to go for modern, tipsy treats.

The location on 348 Adams Ave., Scranton, opened in June after the owners found success with their first eatery in Luzerne County. Boozy B's serves alcohol-infused ice cream, and although the Flight of the Bees is the most popular choice among customers, they also can get floats and ice cream sandwiches or even a glass of wine or beer.

Chef's Table recently chatted with Bianca Lupio, who co-owns Boozy B's with Autumn Eckert, about all the new spot has to offer.

Q: What inspired you to open this eatery?

A: We both had a dream of opening something fun and trendy that no one in the area has ever tried before, so when we came across alcohol-infused ice cream, we fell in love with the idea and started to create our own recipes and taste testing what alcohols mix nicely with the flavors we were creating.

Q: When did you open?

A: Boozy B's opened in the summer of 2019 in West Pittston and then moved to Wilkes-Barre in 2020. We opened our Scranton location this June.

Q: What kind of food do you serve, and what is available for people with special diets?

A: We serve a wide variety of handcrafted ice creams infused with different types of liquors. We offer sorbets, which are dairy-free, and vegan options. We also serve beer and wine by the glass.

Q: How did your menu come to be?

A: We turn classic ice cream flavors that everyone knows and loves into a tipsy, twisted treat for adults 21 and older.

Q: What are your most-ordered menu items and why?

A: Flights are probably our biggest seller here because you can choose any four flavors of ice creams or sorbets.

Q: How would you describe the restaurant's atmosphere?

A: Our atmosphere is very bright and fun, a place where adults can go to hang out that's different from a bar. It's a great place for dates, bachelorette stops or just a friend outing.

Q: What type of seating do you have?

A: In Scranton, we have inside seating only, and for our Wilkes-Barre location, we have both inside and outside seating.

Q: What entertainment and specials do you offer?

A: We have comedy shows once a month in both locations. Keep an eye out on our social media for updates on those.

Q: Do you offer catering, event space, etc.?

A: We do offer catering for all types of events. We have an ice cream cart that we can bring to your event and serve ice cream out of. If you are looking to host a private event at one of our locations, we can most certainly accommodate you.

Q: What kind of dining, takeout and delivery do you have?

A: We are a quick-serve ice cream shop. You can order at the counter and take it to your seat. We offer takeout as well. Every to-go item is closed with a lid on top. We do not offer delivery.

Q: Where do you see the restaurant headed?

A: In the near future, we hope to open more locations in Pennsylvania.
