JESSICA KARTALIJA: I'm Jessica Kartalija with your evening digital news brief for Friday, April 30, 2021. President Biden was in Philadelphia today to celebrate Amtrak's 50th anniversary. The president's relationship with Amtrak spans decades. He's been riding Amtrak since the 1970s during his time as a Senator and vice president. He even earned the nickname "Amtrak Joe." The president used today's event to touch on his proposed American Jobs Plan. It has an $80 million budget for upgrading roads, bridges, and railways, including Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. After the ceremony, the president and first lady headed to Wilmington for the weekend.

A part of a building has collapsed in Kensington. Parts of the walls and windows were left and blowing in the wind. It happened on Letterly Street around 10:30 this morning. We've reached out to see if the collapse was related to the gusty conditions today.

The restaurant bar in Fishtown where a Uhaul driver crashed into an outdoor diner reopened this afternoon. But this was the scene last night at the International Bar where police say the driver reached out of the truck window to steal a purse, and then crashed into the set up hitting two people. The driver is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault. He also led police on a chase. Officials also told us the driver attempted to hit police officers with the truck before being apprehended.
