UKEE WASHINGTON: I'm Ukee Washington with your evening digital news brief for Monday, April 5th 2021. We now know the name of the suspect arrested in the attack on an Asian woman in Center City, Easter Sunday. Today police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Alex White. He's charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person for that incident that was captured on camera. Police are still investigating and say the victim a 27-year-old Asian woman is doing OK. Meantime, officers believe the attack was not racially motivated.

The Philadelphia School District says it is ready to open 23 remaining schools in phase two of hybrid learning. The schools will open for in-person learning beginning April 26th. The school serves students grades three through five, as well as some older students with complex needs. The students will learn remotely for a part of the week and be in the classroom for the other part.

Philadelphia police say a 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after someone shot her last night. The victim was shot inside a home on Rorer Street in Kensington. She was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is in critical condition. No one has been arrested.

Police in Cherry Hill are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a man at an apartment complex. The shooting happened shortly after 4:00 in the morning on Easter Sunday and Sergi Farm Apartments, along Abbey Road. Police have identified the victim as 64-year-old Leopold McCoy, of Bear, Delaware. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Cherry Hill police.
