Philadelphia officials announced today the city will drop most of its COVID restrictions next Wednesday, June 2nd. That's a week earlier than expected. The city will lift density limits, maximum capacity limits, and distancing rules. The Philadelphia Health Department said it's lifting those restrictions because case numbers are falling. However, the city will continue to mandate masks indoors until at least June 11th.

New Jersey has officially relaxed many of its COVID restrictions. It's lifted the mask mandate in indoor public spaces, social distancing rules are also lifted. Still, individual businesses do have the ability to require masking for employees and guests. They're still required in settings like health care and airports. Bars and restaurants can now allow people to eat and drink while standing at bars.

The Bistro at Haddonfield is one New Jersey business keeping masks for now. Customers will be required to wear masks until seated. The owner says this is for the safety of staff and others. He also said the restaurant does not want to ask every customer for vaccination cards.

A special tribute for fallen veterans was held today in Atlantic County.

Bagpipes played at the 37th annual Veterans Memorial program which was held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor. Earlier this week, area Boy Scouts and Girls placed nearly 5,500 flags on each of the cemetery's gravesites to help pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

In Atlantic City, the folks at Bally's Casino are ready for the summer season to begin. They hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at the New Bally's Beach Bar to get things started. And then they topped off the celebration with Atlantic City's largest beach cocktail. The cool weather didn't stop those in attendance from enjoying the new beach bar area.
