A new diner is opening in north Springfield, and the owner is raffling off a car

Farm House Cafe is looking to open a restaurant in Springfield after finding success with its first location in Pittsburg, Kansas.

And to celebrate, the owner said he will raffle off a used car.

Farm House Cafe is opening at 1537 N. Glenstone Ave., in the building where the Carriage House restaurant used to be.

Farm House Cafe is a diner that specializes in breakfast but serves a wide selection of food. Farm House will serve eggs, pancakes, gyros, burgers, pork chops, dessert and much more. Farm House will also have specials, such as free pie, cake and peach cobbler with the purchase of a meal.

Owner Ishmail Balazi said he is optimistic Farm House will stay busy all day. Right, now they are working on interior remodels and he said he intends to hire back most of the old Carriage House employees.

Balazi said that ahead of his grand opening he will raffle off a car, which is a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. Balazi will be allowing customers to enter the raffle if they purchase a $200 gift card to the restaurant.

Balazi told the News-Leader that giving away a car just seemed like the right thing to do ahead of the opening of his new restaurant.
