Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) gifted former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) a candy basket after the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

“Sanders always makes me feel better, especially after one of my teams loses a big game…Hope you enjoy these sweet, comforting treats @SpeakerPelosi!” Dingell posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “I know the Lions will be back with a vengeance next year.”

Sanders is a local chocolate shop that started in Detroit.

Pelosi represents California’s 11th District, which is the downtown San Francisco area. The 49ers lost to the Chiefs 25-22 in overtime Sunday.

The former Speaker flew to Las Vegas to attend the game. Someone posted a video online of Pelosi “decked in Niners gear” headed to the game.

“Go Niners! #FFTB,” she posted in response.

After the game, Pelosi posted on X, saying the team was “outstanding on the field” and praised the supporters for showing “the Bay Area’s proud red & gold spirit” on “full display.”

“While it wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, our Niners had a great season – making the Bay Area proud every step of the way,” she said.
