That complimentary dish of focaccia and roasted garlic arrived at PGA Boulevard as scheduled, Prezzo fans. The revived 90s-era Italian restaurant opened its doors on Nov. 26.

The opening marked the return of the restaurant brand to Palm Beach Gardens, where restaurateur Burt Rapoport and then business partner Dennis Max opened a Prezzo in the early 1990s. Rapoport, who revived the concept four years ago in Boca Raton, opened the new Gardens location with managing partner Eddie Pozzuoli.

Prezzo made its new debut at the PGA Commons plaza in the space most recently occupied by star chef Laurent Tourondel’s Scusi trattoria. Before that, the space housed Vic and Angelo’s for 14 years.

What to expect at the Gardens’ newest Italian spot? That welcome bread basket with a roasted knob of garlic, of course, and a menu inspired by the Italian-American classics of New York and the general Northeast area.

“The Chicken Parm. The Veal Milanese that’s pounded out so it fills up the whole place. The roasted garlic spread. Classics with some unique twists,” Pozzuoli told The Post in September.

Pozzuoli hired Prezzo Boca’s executive chef, David Garcia, to lead the kitchen at Prezzo in the Gardens. Before arriving at Prezzo Boca, Garcia worked under chef Angelo Elia at his eponymous Italian restaurant in Parkland and later at Coral Springs’ Tavolino Della Notte restaurant.

Prezzo will celebrate its official grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 11, with a $50-per-person charity bash to benefit the Palm Beach County Food Bank.
