Diplomas Awarded to 109 Graduates At Windsor Locks High School
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Concluding an academic year unlike any other in history, 109 seniors at Windsor Locks High School finally got to receive their diplomas Friday in a fashion never before seen.
Due to state restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, the graduation ceremony took place in the Board of Education parking lot behind the high school. As their names were called, the graduates left their vehicles to cross a stage in their caps and gowns to culminate their scholastic years.
The program, which had been slated for Thursday but postponed a day due to rain, featured some recorded speeches from education officials, plus live presentations from class president Collin O'Brien, salutatorian Carl Gianelli and valedictorian Owen Cannon.
