Disabled Quincy mom wants Christmas for her daughter and clothes without holes

Aliya, a single mother, has a long list of needs. But up high is bringing Christmas to her 16-year-old daughter.

Aliya struggles financially as the sole provider for her daughter, whose father died. Aliya finds it difficult this time of year to not be able to afford more.

The Quincy mom began seeking mental health support after an attempt to end her life. She has been in treatment for about 10 years.

She is physically disabled, even after surgeries on her back. She might need further surgery. She said she wants to return to the workforce. She volunteers for the community through her church and helps out at a local art studio where she makes clay figurines.

Aliya, who has been living with her daughter, Nana, and two cats for the past couple of years near Wollaston Beach, is also in dire need of clothing. Aliya has not bought clothing for herself in a long time. Much of her clothing has holes. She receives disability benefits, but that often isn't enough.

Aliya loves cooking for her family and would love to be able to have enough money to cook a special Christmas meal.
