Disc Golf Players Credited With Helping Put Out Fire At Public Park

Disc golfers were finishing up their game at East La Loma Park when they spotted a fire on a hillside. They went to the creek to get water to put out the flames. The fire grew rapidly, but thanks to the timely and courageous efforts of the disc golfers, much of the riparian area of the park and the neighboring homes across the creek went undamaged, according to the Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Facebook page.
