Discount merchandise retail store opening in Port Trevorton
Dec. 13—PORT TREVORTON — Licensed auctioneer Brian Fuller is opening a retail store of discounted merchandise in Port Trevorton this month.
Fuller, of Country Green Auctioneering, has been selling discounted items at auction for a few years and decided much of the goods could reach more customers in a retail setting.
A soft opening is scheduled for Country Green Dealz at 6362 S. Susquehanna Trail, Port Trevorton, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23.
The store will offer a variety of items, including non-perishable food, household cleaning products and first-aid kits at a cost of at least 50 percent below retail price.
"Few people think to go to an auction" for these items, Fuller said.
His wife, Rachel, and eldest daughter, Lauren, who will manage the store, were helping to stock the shelves Tuesday, which included holiday decorations, tools, outdoor grills, portable washing machines, mini-refrigerators and more.
"He's had a lot of ideas over the years," said Rachel Fuller of her husband who also runs a sawmill at their Port Trevorton farm.
Fuller plans to establish a website for the new business and allow customers to order online.
A grand opening will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 5.
