Discount Outlet store, property in Massillon auctioned for $715,000. Who bought it?
MASSILLON – The Discount Outlet store building and an adjacent property on the city's northeast side changed hands at auction Monday afternoon for $715,000.
The building and property sold to the highest bidder — Logan Rohr, a Wooster area livestock farmer and owner of Dalton-based 3D Meats — during a public auction that ran about an hour. Multiple bids were made in-person at the store's northeast Massillon property and online via Kiko realtors, auctioneers and advisers.

"We'll use (the property) for storage pretty much right away and for possible, future retail," Rohr said shortly after the auction, which was attended by about 40 people.
Last month, Discount Outlet announced it was shuttering its doors after nearly 30 years at 1070 First St. NE. The store's final day of business is slated on or about Oct. 15.
Discount Outlet also had a second location in Belden Village. It closed in 2022.
The main property on First Street NE houses the store's 22,000 square-foot, steel commercial building and a secondary storage building that rest on 1.97 acres. The additional, vacant parcel bought by Rohr totals more than an acre and a half.
Rohr's winning bid for the Discount Outlet building and property next door came in at $650,000. It included a 10% transaction fee, or buyer's premium, bringing the final sale price to $715,000.
Other parcels sell at Discount Outlet auction Monday afternoon
Two parcels on the opposite side of First Street NE also sold as part of the Discount Outlet auction.

Edwin McGlumphy, of Mac Management Inc. Motors in North Canton, bought both properties for a combined total of $313,500. One lot includes a rental home, while the other vacant lot is currently leased to a trucking company.
McGlumphy told The Independent he had no immediate plans for the properties.
Longtime Kiko auctioneer Peter Kiko touted the versatility of the Discount Outlet buildings and adjacent properties during his introductory remarks at the auction.
"This is a massive footprint near state Route 21 and close to U.S. Route 30, good for personal or business needs," Kiko said. "It's a nice place to bet your dollars."
