Discover the latest in camping at The Pittsburgh RV Show

Winter is an ideal time to start planning trips outdoors.

If you need inspiration, there’s an event happening soon that will give you plenty of ideas to upgrade your outdoors experience.

The Pittsburgh RV Show opens Saturday and runs through Jan. 16 in the David L Lawrence Convention Center.

It’s the 55th anniversary of the event that organizers describe as nine acres of indoors recreational vehicle paradise. Yes, regardless of the weather, you can still have the camping experience at this large indoor venue.

More than 100 exhibitors and 13 RV dealers are planning to have displays of their products.

Visitors can expect to meet with an array of campground representatives and accessory vendors and explore RV options ranging from folding camping trailers to high-end motor homes with engines and driving compartments.

“Consumers are now doing more and more homework online, but nothing can compare with touring RVs in person when they can check out the newest models, latest technology, accessories and everything RV-related,” he said in the announcement.

Hours for the event Jan. 8-16 are Monday through Friday 4 to 9 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Convention Center box office – or skip the line by purchasing tickets in advance at www.PittRVshow.com. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (55 and older) and active military personnel, $5 for children age 6 to 16 and free for children 5 and younger.
